CO2 Laser Treatment

CO2 laser is a highly effective skin rejuvenation treatment to remove the outer layers of damaged skin. This procedure promotes collagen production, resulting in smoother, tighter, and more youthful-looking skin. This advanced skin treatment is ideal for deep acne scarring, enlarged pores, skin tightening and overall skin rejuvenation
It is not suitable for all skin types, so we recommend attending a free consultation prior to commencing treatment to ensure it is right for you.
CO2 laser works by creating micro-injuries to the skin’s surface, stimulating collagen production while resurfacing the skin. It’s highly effective for treating deeper wrinkles, acne scars, pigmentation issues, and skin laxity. By targeting only a fraction of the skin, it allows for faster healing times and minimal risk. The treatment results in smoother, firmer skin with reduced signs of ageing.
The number of treatments required depends on the severity of the skin concern being addressed. Typically, 1 to 3 sessions are needed to achieve optimal results. Treatments are spaced a few weeks apart, and you will have a tailored plan based on your skin type and goals. Multiple sessions may be required for optimal results.
Downtime varies depending on the depth of the treatment, with most clients experiencing up to 10 days of recovery. During this time, you may experience redness, swelling, and peeling as the skin heals. These side effects are temporary, and you will be provided with aftercare instructions to help speed up the healing process.
*Usually, a numbing cream is applied before the laser treatment commences to keep you comfortable. However, your skin will immediately start to feel a moderate sunburn as soon as the effectiveness of the numbing gel starts to wear off.

Aftercare

Use a recommended antiseptic cream to cover any area with oozing and keep moist. Use of icepacks helps alleviate the heat sensation. You may use a very gentle cleanse to clean your face.
First Few Days; Continue cleansing and moisturizing over the next few days. Once the sloughing starts, please allow your skin to heal and DO NOT scrub, pick, rub, or use exfoliants.
First Week of Healing. Keep treated area clean; avoid smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, excessive exercise, perspiring, swimming, or exposing skin to heat or any sun.
Do not use Scrubs, Toners, Glycolic Acid, or any acid products, Retinols or vit C. Your skin will be sensitive for the first week or so after treatment. Do not use products that will cause irritation during this time. Remember that peeling and/or flaking is normal during the healing process and should not be interrupted.
Once the sloughing is complete, you may resume your routine skin care and make-up products, as long as they are tolerable to you.
Sunscreen should offer broadband protection (UVA and UVB) and have a sun protection factor SPF) of 30 or more. Apply sunscreen every 2 hours. If direct sun exposure is necessary, wear a hat and clothing that covers the treated area. Your practice of diligent sunscreen use may lower the risk of laser-induced hyperpigmentation (darker color).
